Case Study: Balitono
I began working with Balitono in 1995. The company needed a single identitythey had worked with many designers and consequently had developed a variety of looks. During the course of our relationship, we have created an identity that communicates the playfulness, natural and quality of their products.
We redesigned the catalog to showcase their unique products. Previous catalog designs had been distracting due to numerous fonts and extraneous graphics. In addition, the catalog was in need of organization. We simplified the design, used a palette with a minimal number of colors and introduced a tabbed paging system along with intuitive categories for their products. We use multiple images and succinct copy for each product to clearly convey what is included. We've also incorporated a section that highlights new products. The result: an easy to use guide where the products, rather than graphics, are the focal point.
The website design followed from the catalogsimilar look, feel and organization so customers familiar with the catalog are immediately comfortable with the website.
In addition to the above projects, I have worked with Balitono to carry their identity through all aspects of their visual presence: retail packaging, advertising and marketing collateral. It has been a pleasure to accompany and support this organization's growth over the years. (Additional examples can be viewed in the portfolio section.)
